The Great Debate complements the already broad range of Law Day activities. The Ontario Justice Education Network's Great Debate gives top legal practitioners and professionals an opportunity to gear up and show off their legal strengths.

Debates generally take place in the historic Ontario Court of Appeal courthouse at Osgoode Hall in Toronto and are broadcast on cable television.

Teaching tools

The Ontario Justice Education Network created a landmark teaching resource on the issue of same sex marriage, which includes a case summary, debaters’ speaking notes, timelines and questions.

DVD copies of the broadcast are available free of charge from the Ontario Justice Education Network.

Information

  • 2008 Great Debate is scheduled for Wednesday, April 16th at Osgoode Hall
