February 8, 2008

Dear Colleague:

NOTICE OF OBA ELECTIONS FOR THE 2008-2009 EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

The time for nominating members of the Ontario Bar Association to certain Executive positions occurs between January 31st and March 31st, 2008. The following Executive positions will be open for nomination for the term 2008 – 2009:

- Vice-President

- Treasurer (two-year term)

-
Secretary

- Chair of Professional Development

- Executive-at-large (5 positions)

By convention, the position of Vice-President (who automatically becomes President in the following year) alternates between members practising in Toronto and those practising outside of Toronto. For the coming year, to accord with that convention, the candidate should practise outside of Toronto.

Ballot nominations, to comply with our By-Laws, must be made in writing using the nomination form enclosed and received by the Ontario Bar Association offices no later than the close of business on March 31st, 2008. All written nominations must be signed by at least five OBA members and include the candidate’s written consent.
