Advocacy, Government Relations and Communications

The Advocacy, Government Relations and Communications department works with members, governments and stakeholders to advance OBA's positions and to advocate on behalf of members by creating and implementing communications and government relations strategies.

Services:

  • Member communiques, advertising, Briefly Speaking / En bref, and other communications vehicles
  • Media relations and spokesperson support
  • Strategic advice and counsel to Executive, Table Officers and Council and assists them in achieving their objectives
  • Liaison with government and stakeholders and nurture relationships, assist and organize section appearances before government standing committees
  • Committee support and counsel to Advocacy and Government Relations Committee, official languages, submissions committee and 8-10 standing and special committees
  • French language services through public enquiry and co-ordinator
  • Coordinates more than 10 activities for Law Day, the largest public legal education program organized by OBA
