Award for Excellence in Real Property
The Award of Excellence in Real Estate was created to recognize exceptional contributions and/or achievements in real estate by members of the OBA in the following areas: teaching of real estate Law; development of real estate law including lecturing, scholarly writing and lobbying; enhancement of the practice of real estate law; and leadership in the real estate bar, the government, the Law Society of Upper Canada and the OBA in relation to real estate issues, real estate legislation and the operation of the Land Registration System. Teranet Land Information Services Inc. is the exclusive sponsor of this prestigious award.
The Nominations Committee is to consist of the chair of the Real Property Section, the past chair, the vice-chair, the immediate past recipient, the OBA Director of Sections, and two members of the Real Estate Section from outside Toronto.
| Eligibility: |
Any Real Property Section member of the OBA not including current Past Chair, Chair or Vice Chair of the Real Property Section and/or current Table Officers of OBA Council. |
| Presentation: |
The award is presented annually at a lunch during thr OBA's Annual Institute of Continuing Legal Education. |
| Nomination Procedure: |
A nomination requires the signatures of three OBA members in good standing. To assist the Committee in its selection, it is requested that the nominator include the nominee's curriculum vitae and supporting letters.
The nominee must be advised by one of the nominators that his or her name has been put forward for this award prior to the nomination deadline. |

Please send your nomination, together with a curriculum vitae and a detailed letter of recommendation on or before Friday, January 4, 2008. Please click here for more information |
| Selection Process: |
The Nomination Committee will review the nominations and submit the candidate chosen to the Officers of the Real Property Section Executive. The number of awards to be presented annually will not normally exceed one. |
| Award: |
A crystal award is presented to the recipient. A host award with the names of all recipients is located at the OBA Conference Centre. |
