Timeraiser is organized by the independent, not-for-profit Framework foundation which organizes Timeraiser events in Canada from coast to coast.
Timeraiser is part volunteer fair, part art auction and part networking event for young professionals. Timeraiser brings young professionals to a gala evening where they can network and explore volunteer opportunities with needy community organizations.
Local organizations undergo volunteer resource training through the Framework Foundation in order to ensure the skills young professionals can give are put to good use. These local organizations gain volunteers, receive training on volunteer resource management best practices and benefit from exposure through materials and the gala event.
Young professionals bid volunteer hours in a silent art auction on pieces of art. If the winning young professional completes the hours they promised to complete within one year then they win that original piece of art for their budding private collection.
The art is selected by a jury and is paid for and displayed for one year in a prominent location by sponsors of the timeraiser event. This provides the emerging artist with money for their art, with a juried art show to add to their resume, and with public exposure for their art.
The sponsors donate money to the Timeraiser event and are provided with one of their preferred pieces of art for one year, an accompanying plaque explaining their charitable contribution to the community and publicity in all event promotional materials.
There are Timeraisers all across Canada in cities including: Toronto, Hamilton, Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary and Ottawa.
