Town Hall Meetings

"Justice in Ontario - Getting it Right" is the theme of the OBA's Town Hall Meetings with MPPs across the province.

This unique concept of partnering MPPs with an OBA Co-Chair to host a local Town Hall meeting on justice issues began in June 2006 in Brockville. Since that time several other Town Halls have been held across the province.
We are working with MPPs from all sides of the House to ensure that we hear about local issues and justice needs province-wide.

The local bar, including all OBA members in that riding, and all legal / justice stakeholders are invited, along with members of the public, to provide solution based comments, addressing the following three questions:
  • To what extent do you view Ontario’s justice/legal system as accessible and transparent?
  • What processes in the system can be streamlined to make them faster and more efficient?
  • What areas call for alternatives to the current system?
