AB - Bill 18 re PRPPs

Alberta introduced Bill 18, Pooled Registered Pension Plans Act, for first reading on April 18, 2013. If passed, the Bill will implement pooled registered pension plans (per the federal framework established late last year) in Alberta.

QC - Quebec Expert Commission Report

On April 17, 2013, an expert committee chaired by Alban D'Amours released its report analyzing the state of the Quebec retirement income system and making recommendations on how to improve it in light of new economic and demographic realities. The report entitled "Innovating for a Sustainable Retirement System - A Social Contract to Strengthen the Financial Security of All Québec Workers" was published in French only, but a summary of the report is available in English.

Saskatchewan introduced Bill 91, An Act to Amend the Saskatchewan Pension Plan Act and Bill 92, An Act respecting Pooled Registered Pension Plans and making consequential amendments to certain Acts for first reading on April 8, 2013. If passed, the Bills will implement pooled registered pension plans (per the federal framework established late last year) in Saskatchewan.
