Privacy Law Day at the OBA: Karen Spector Memorial Award, CPD Program and AGM

On May 31, the OBA Privacy Law Section recognizes Ken Anderson, Assistant Commissioner (Privacy) for the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner/Ontario with the Karen Spector Memorial Award for Excellence in Privacy Law. Mr. Anderson will be joined by fellow members of the OBA Privacy Law Section as well as guest, Ann Cavoukian, Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario, who will give special remarks during the award ceremony.

The award ceremony will be accompanied by CPD program offering 1.5 substantive hours called, Privacy Policies: The Consumer's View into Your Organization's Privacy Practices. Bill Abbott, Senior Counsel and Bell Privacy Ombudsman of Bell Canada Regulatory Law and David Fewer, Director at Samuelson-Glushko Canadian Internet Policy and Public Interest Clinic will speak to: drafting an effective privacy policy, the role of the privacy policy in marketing privacy practices to the public among other related topics.

The CPD program and award will be followed by the OBA Privacay Law Section AGM.
