Law Day 2008 Highlights

Law Day 2008 saw great successes province-wide, with nearly 13,000 participants taking part in the numerous programs and events. Over the past few years, Law Day has grown to a full week of informative and educational programs and events. Generous funding from the Law Foundation of Ontario and resources and funds from the Ontario Bar Association (OBA) and Law Day partners* make Law Day possible.

The Law Day Committee is dedicated to ensure the prosperity of Law Day/Week programming and events. With this, on the heels of Law Day 2008, planning for 2009 begins.

There are more than twenty OBA and Law Day partner program types and styles that make up Law Day/Week. They include: Phone_a-Lawyer, Elementary School Mock Trials, Law Day Symposium, Great Debate, La Journée du droit provincial tour, Active Citizens Survey, Law in the Mall, So You Think You Can Sue, Law Day Special Citizenship Ceremony, Court Tours, regional mock trials, open houses, career fairs, question & answer sessions, etc.

The photos included in this gallery are a small example from the Opening Ceremony, Secondary School Mock Trials, Law Day Special Citizenship Ceremony and Photography Contest. To view the 2008 photo gallery, please click here.
