Health Law

Health law is a rapidly growing area for the legal profession, where issues arise ar the intersection of law, health care delivery and ethics. The Health Law Section of the OBA is comprised of approximately 310 active members, who practise health law exclusively or in conjunction with other areas of law.
Our members work in private practice, government agencies, regulatory bodies or in-house, and deal with very diverse issues including complaints and discipline of health care professionals, mental health/consent and capacity, corporate health, duties and standards of care and health policy.

Patient rights, privacy of health information, end of life decision-making and the regulation of health professionals are among the many hot topics debated in the Health Law Section's programs and publications. Join now to keep updated on these important issues and to meet with top experts and professionals in the field of health law.
