French the way you want it -
This year's autumn French Without Tears courses will lead to your business and social language goals. Whether it be communicating with colleagues or friends in person, by phone or e-mail, preparing for your next holiday or just for fun, French Without Tears will further your language skills. Going into its 15th successful year and with classes in Toronto, Ottawa and soon available online, you can really learn French through our boutique-style classes wherever you are.

TORONTO
French Without Tears returns for the autumn  2010 session beginning the week of September 27th, 2010. The 12-week course will see Professor Paulette Collet, our experienced instructor, lead each of the four levels offered: beginner, intermediate 1, intermediate 2 and advanced. Please click here for the Toronto autumn 2010 brochure and registration form.

OTTAWA
French Without Tears' Ottawa winter session begins in early November 2010. In Ottawa the courses focus on Beginner/intermediate and intermediate/advanced levels, under the direction of Professor Gaëtan Fleuriau Chateau. The autumn French Without Tears Ottawa brochure and registration form will be available by early September.

ONLINE
A pilot online version of French Without Tears' beginner and advanced classes will begin in October 2010. The pilot program will see a handfull of specially selected participants from across the province take part in a series of live webinar-style classes. The classes will be offer two-way communication and be accommpanied by a textbook to facilitate progress. We anticipate the pilot program will be followed by the full course in early 2011.

ABOUT FRENCH WITHOUT TEARS
French Without Tears consists of 8 to 12-week sessions offered during autumn, winter and spring annually. Special sessions are offered during the summer months, which have included intensive mini immersion courses, along with a targeted legal French course offered generally once per year.

French Without Tears is open to members of the OBA (lawyers, judges and students) and non-members who wish to learn, improve or brush-up their French; written and spoken. The courses, currently offered in Toronto and Ottawa, concentrate on conversation, grammar and reading, and are offered at various levels from beginner through intermediate to advanced. Information materials are sent to OBA members prior to each session. ABOUT OUR INSTRUCTORS
University of Toronto Professor Emeritus, Paulette Collet, has been teaching French for nearly 40 years and OBA’s French Without Tears program for nearly 15 years. Her contagious enthusiasm for the French language combined with her innate passion for teaching itself has helped engage countless English-speaking Ontario lawyers over the years in learning (or improving) spoken or written French in a unique and relaxed learning environment.

With nearly 40 years experience teaching French and English, Gaëtan Fleuriau Chateau joins us - teaching French Without Tears in Ottawa. Having taught French at Algonquin College, La Cité collégiale, Carlton University and Université d’Ottawa, he began teaching for the OBA in April 2008. An Ordre des Palmes académiques Cavalier and President of the Association des membres de l’ordre des Palmes académiques Canada, he is also the Annual Conference Programming Director for the Association des professeurs de français des universitiés et collèges canadiens. He will share is great understanding of and commitment to the French language with us.
