Operations

Conference Centre

OBA's Conference Centre provides OBA and its members with a convenient and economical site to hold meetings and educational programs. The meeting centre is also rented out to external groups.

Services:
  • OBA has two meeting rooms, and two multi-purpose rooms which can be sub-divided to five rooms. The meeting centre is managed through a computer scheduling system.
  • OBA has a limited service kitchen that offers warming ovens. Meals are either brought in ready-made, e.g. continental breakfasts, soup, sandwich, salad, and dessert lunches; or in the case of full breakfasts and dinners, are prepared off-site and garnished and served at OBA.
  • We have 2 data projectors, 3 screens, 8 flipcharts/easels, 4 conference phones, 1 overhead projector, 1 slide projector, and 2 wireless microphones available at no cost for OBA programs and meetings. The equipment is rented to external organizations. 
Human Resources and Facilities Management

The Human Resources and Facilities Management Department is responsible for managing the various human resource programs of the OBA as well as the regular operation and maintenance of the organization’s premises and equipment.

Services:
  • Administers the overall human resources function for the Association. This includes promoting and supporting the personal and professional welfare of OBA staff
  • Supervises outsourced Facilities Management (Xerox Business Services), including coordination of print production and mail services
  • Manages building and equipment maintenance, space utilization, and capital and leasehold items

Technology

OBA's Technology Department is working with CBA National and our own Technology Committee to:
  • Maintain and enhance the day-to-day technological operations within OBA.
  • Provide the infrastructure and tools for electronic outreach to members for advocacy, information exchange, dialogue and e-commerce.
  • Develop a strategic plan for technology at OBA, including how to take our business processes and communication with members online.

  • Selection and maintenance of hardware and software, provision of e-mail and Internet services and maintenance of phone and voicemail systems
